Joanna Ware

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Joanna (Jo) Ware (she/her) is an organizer, facilitator, and educator. She has spent over a decade working with organizations – inside and outside of the Jewish world -  to bring forth a more just, whole, and liberatory world. Joanna has worked as a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) consultant, Adaptive Leadership teacher and practitioner, community organizer, and popular educator at the intersections of identity, power, leadership, and social justice. For many years, she worked for LGBTQ equality in the Jewish community, as a core member of Keshet’s program team.

Joanna is a graduate of Antioch College, holds Executive Certificates in Adaptive Leadership (Harvard Kennedy School), Facilitation (Georgetown University), and Management (The Management Center; Midwest Academy). She is a Schusterman Foundation Senior Fellow, a member of the Tzedek Lab, and an alumna of the JOIN for Justice Jewish Organizing Fellowship. Joanna is a queer femme of Sephardic, Ashkenazi, and non-Jewish European roots, from an interfaith family. Originally from San Diego, she now lives in Boston with her spouse Diana and their kiddo.
